Why I dumped Switzerland for Nigeria – Ukoh

explaining why he has chosen to represent the Super
Eagles instead of Switzerland.
The former Switzerland youth international was able to switch
allegiances under Fifa rules because he has not yet played for
a country’s senior national team.
“I know that the Super Eagles is the pride of African football,
so it was an easy decision,” the 23-year-old told BBC Sport.
“No one from Nigeria or Switzerland influenced my decision. I
have wonderful parents who simply let me decide on my own
and they’ve supported me.
“I took my time and saw that it was right and best to play for
Nigeria.”
The midfielder, who plays for FC Biel-Bienne in the Swiss
second-tier, played for Switzerland at U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19
and U-20 levels between 2006 and 2010.
But he jumped at the chance to be included in the Nigeria
squad for their double-header friendly against Ivory Coast and
Sudan in the United Arab Emirates next month.
“This is a dream come true for me because every footballer
dreams of playing at senior international level,” he said.
“Few people can fulfil this dream, actually I just want to play
football and give my best.
“The country has great players but I’ll try to take advantage
of this great opportunity.
“It’s an honour for me to play for my homeland and I am
looking forward to visiting my extended family in Nigeria.”
Ukoh becomes the latest player to switch allegiance to
Nigeria at senior international level following in the footsteps
of former England youth internationals Sone Aluko, Shola
Ameobi and Victor Moses.

Things to consider before going for your masters(Msc)

Getting a master's degree will be an incredible source of pride
and help bring you professional opportunities you may not
have previously thought possible. However, you need to know
a few things before you get started.
Why You Want One
The most common reason that people seek a master's degree
is to advance in their profession and earn more money.
Others, however, go this route in order to change careers
completely. For example, you may have earned a bachelor's
degree in English and later decide you want to become a
counselor. In that case, a master's will allow you to develop
expertise in that area so you can enter a new field. This type
of degree is offered in a wide range of fields, including
mathematics, biology, psychology, business, social work, and
many others.
How Long It Takes
It typically takes two years to obtain a master's of arts (MA)
or science (MS) after getting your bachelor's. There is
basically no difference between an MA and an MS other than
the name; they have the same basic educational requirements.
While you'll be in classes similar to those you went through to
get your bachelor's, they are typically more like seminars in
that they contain a great deal of discussion. In addition, you'll
be expected to perform much more analysis than you've done
previously.
The Workload
You can expect to do coursework full time. You'll have to take
required courses at first, but then you'll be able to focus on
your specific subject area later on. If you are studying a
science, you will probably do a great deal of fieldwork and
laboratory research. If you're in a professional program, you'll
probably be required to complete an internship.
You will either have to complete an extended research paper
or a thesis, depending on your field of study. The thesis could
be a scientific experiment or a detailed analysis of a certain
piece of literature. There are some programs that offer
alternatives to the thesis, such as a comprehensive exam. It
could be an oral test, a written one, or a combination. If
you're studying in a field such as psychology or social work,
you may need to perform an internship or practicum in which
you learn the skills needed to perform therapy.
Choosing to pursue a master's degree is not something to
take lightly. You'll need to be prepared to put in a great deal
of work and may have to sacrifice some of the things you
were able to enjoy while getting your bachelor's, such as time
hanging out with friends and more. However, once you
accomplish your goal, the benefits you enjoy could very well
last a lifetime.

only through direct contact with the bodily fluids of an
infected person showing symptoms such as fever or vomiting.
People caring for the sick or handling the bodies of people
infected Ebola are especially exposed.
As of December 21 a total of 666 healthcare workers were
known to have contracted the virus, and 366 of them had

Muslim youths protect Christians during Xmas service in Kaduna

More than 200 Muslim youth volunteers are part of those
protecting Christians during church services to celebrate this
year’s Christmas in Kaduna, says Pastor Yohanna Buru.
Buru, a cleric of Christ Evangelical Church, Sabon Tasha,
Kaduna South, disclosed this in an interview with pressmen in
Kaduna.
He confirmed that over 200 Muslims were at his church to
help protect the faithful from any attack during the church
service.
According to him, the feat is the first of its kind after the
series of crises that rocked the state in recent past.
“I really appreciate their love and care,’’ said the cleric.
Buru said the essence of that was to protect the Christian
worshippers as part of effort to strengthen peaceful co-
existence between Muslims and Christians in the state.
The pastor expressed happiness over the protection given to
them by the Muslim brothers.
He noted the initiative was an indication that peace has come
to stay in the state, saying the measure will strengthen a
lasting peace between the two religions.
He also prayed God to continue to bring about peace in the
country the country, praying that other citizens would emulate
the gesture.
He urged Nigerians to learn to live in peace with one another
irrespective of ethnic or religious differences.
The cleric said that peace was a major panacea to the
positive development of any nation. (NAN)
